You can delete your Kidan account and everything attached to it at any time. Deletion is permanent and takes effect immediately — there is no waiting period and no recovery.

      ⚠️ This cannot be undone. Once you confirm, your profile, photos, matches and conversations are removed. Signing up again later creates a completely new account with nothing carried over.
    

Delete from inside the app

Open Kidan and sign in.
Open the Profile tab.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
Confirm when prompted.

Delete by email

If you have lost access to your phone number and cannot sign in, email us from the address on your account and we will delete it for you. Include the phone number you registered with so we can find the right account.

We respond within 30 days, and in practice much sooner.

What is deleted

Profile name, age, city, origin, faith, bio, preferences	Deleted immediately

Likes and passes	Deleted in both directions — yours and those sent to you
Matches and messages	Deleted, including for the person you matched with
Voice notes and shared images	Deleted with their conversation

Notification tokens	Deleted — the app stops being able to reach your device
VIP subscription bought on the website	Cancelled immediately — no further payments are taken. (A subscription bought through Google Play must be cancelled in Google Play.)

What we keep, and why

Three narrow exceptions, all required of us rather than chosen:

Abuse reports filed about you are kept so that a banned member cannot erase the record by deleting and re-registering. These contain the report itself, not your profile.
Payment records, if you ever paid for VIP: invoices and transaction records are kept by us and our payment provider, Stripe, for as long as tax and accounting law requires (up to 6 years in the UK), and so that refunds can still be issued. They contain what was paid and when, not your profile, photos or messages.
Aggregate, anonymous counts — for example the total number of sign-ups in a month. These cannot be traced back to you.

Nothing else is retained. We do not keep a shadow copy of deleted profiles, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone.

Backups

Deleted data may persist in encrypted infrastructure backups for up to 30 days before those backups age out. It is not accessible to Kidan staff or to other members during that time, and it is never restored to the live service.
